We’re excited to announce the release of Haptic Composer 2.8, our most significant update yet. This release brings a completely redesigned interface, powerful new batch processing capabilities, and performance improvements that will transform how you create haptic experiences.
Haptic Composer is officially coming to Mac—for the very first time. Developers and creators on macOS can now enjoy the same powerful editing, playback, and effect-building tools that have redefined haptic design on Windows.
Installation is quick and seamless through our GitHub release, so you can get started in minutes. And when paired with Razer Synapse for Mac, you’ll unlock full testing support on Razer Sensa HD Haptic devices—bringing your effects to life exactly as players will feel them.
This milestone release opens the door for an even wider community of creators to push the boundaries of immersion.
The most noticeable change in 2.8 is our completely revamped user interface. We’ve redesigned the main view with cleaner, more intuitive layouts for both vibration and stiffness sensation editing. The new interface provides better visual feedback and makes it easier to fine-tune your haptic effects.
Our Note Editor has also received a major overhaul, offering more precise control over individual haptic events. The streamlined design reduces clutter while putting the most important tools at your fingertips.

One of the most requested features is finally here: batch processing. Convert multiple audio files into haptic effects at once, eliminating the need for repetitive manual work.
The new batch processing interface is accessible via a dedicated button in the main view, allowing you to easily queue multiple files for conversion. Whether you’re working with an extensive sound library or processing variations of the same sound, batch processing streamlines your workflow and saves valuable time.
A new button in the main view provides access to Batch processing as well.
Testing your haptic effects is now more intuitive than ever. The redesigned playback system lets you start playback from any point using the slider—making it easier to isolate and test specific sections of your effects.
Key playback improvements include:
• Better audio waveform generation for clearer visual feedback
• Secured real-time audio loop for consistent playback
• New real-time haptic loop that supports full effect playback—with or without audio
The performance improvements in 2.8 are substantial and will be immediately noticeable when compared to the previous version.
Lightning-Fast File Conversion
Our testing shows dramatic speed improvements in audio-to-haptic conversion:
• Old Composer average: ~9.5 seconds per file
• New Composer average: ~4 seconds per file
That’s an almost 60% reduction in conversion time!

Additionally, batch audio-to-haptics conversion is now supported—and as shown in the GIF, converting and opening a group of files with the same settings is lightning fast.
Opening large haptic files (30+ seconds) is now significantly faster, cutting down wait times and boosting productivity when working with complex, long-duration effects. See below the difference in opening a 1 minute file in the old and new Haptic Composer.

Zooming and resizing the timeline—two essential operations when working with haptic effects—are now smoother and more responsive than ever. While the previous Composer occasionally struggled with heavier timelines, the new version offers a noticeably more fluid and intuitive editing experience.

Working with complex haptic notes is now significantly faster. Moving a large note—which previously took a few seconds—now responds in just half a second. This subtle yet powerful improvement streamlines your workflow, especially when fine-tuning detailed haptic patterns.

The difference in melody operations is perhaps the most striking improvement:
• Adding a melody: Reduced from ~5 seconds to ~0.3 seconds (94% faster)
• Removing a melody: Dropped from 6-8 seconds to 0.4-0.5 seconds (93% faster)
With faster interactions, you’re free to experiment with melodic structures—no more frustrating slowdowns interrupting your creative process.

Opening the Note Editor – a core tool for detailed haptic editing – has been transformed from a 5-second wait into a near-instantaneous action taking less than 1 second.

Perhaps the most impressive improvement is in keyframe operations:
• Multiple keyframe selection: From ~5 seconds to instant
• Moving selected keyframes: From ~6 seconds to instant
These operations are fundamental to haptic editing, and making them instantaneous transforms the entire editing experience. You can now select and move multiple keyframes as quickly as you can think, enabling a more fluid and creative workflow.

While we’ve made significant performance improvements, it’s worth noting the practical limits for optimal performance:
• Simple content: Files up to ~60 seconds maintain peak performance
• Complex content: Files up to ~30 seconds for best experience
These limits represent substantial improvements over previous versions and should accommodate the vast majority of haptic effect creation scenarios.
We’ve completely overhauled our update system using GitHub releases. Updates are now more reliable, faster to download, and less intrusive to your workflow. The new system ensures you’ll always have access to the latest features and bug fixes.
Haptic Composer 2.8 marks a significant step forward in haptic design.
This release reinforces our commitment to delivering a faster, more intuitive, and more efficient creation experience. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting to explore haptic design, these enhancements are built to streamline your workflow and unlock greater creative freedom.
The update is available now through our improved auto-update system. If you’re running a previous version, you’ll be prompted to upgrade automatically.
